ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :

Before applying for the PGLAW program, candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria set by the University. The following are the eligibility criteria for PGLAW admission 2023:

Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in any discipline with at least 45%* marks in aggregate from Panjab University or any other University recognized by Bar Council of India and Panjab University.

SYLLABUS :

The duration of the Entrance Test will be of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The Entrance Test will be of 100marks consisting multiple-choice questions. The objective type questions will be available in Hindi and Punjabi also. 

The questions will be based upon following three components:

Current Affairs and General Knowledge : 30 Marks

Legal Aptitude : 40 Marks

Reasoning Ability and Knowledge of English : 30 Marks

ADMISSION PROCESS :

The admission process for the PGLAW program at Panjab University is conducted in online mode.

The following are the steps involved in the admission process:

  • Register by providing the required details, including name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number at pglaw.puchd.ac.in 
  • An email with login credentials and a password will be sent to the registered email ID.
  • Login to the application portal using the provided login credentials.
  •  Fill in the application form with the necessary details, including personal information, academic qualifications, and category selection.
  • Upload scanned copies of the required documents, including mark sheets, certificates, photograph, and signature.
  • Pay the application fee online through the available payment modes.
  • Verify and submit the application form.
  • Download and take a printout of the application form and payment receipt for future reference

AFTER ENTRANCE EXAM RESULT

  • Qualifying an Entrance Test does not entitle a candidate to seek admission in a course. 
  • The candidate will have to fill up and submit an online Admission Form at http://onlineadmissions.puchd.ac.in and has to meet the eligibility re quirements of the course. 
  • Every candidate must apply for the Reserved Category (ies) to which he/she belongs to in the Admission Form. All candidates will be considered in the General Category irrespective of the fact that they have claimed for admission under Reserved Categories subject to the condition that the candidate of SC/ST/BC/PwD categories fulfills the minimum eligibility requirement of General Category and must not have availed of relaxation in eligibility marks. No candidate shall be considered for admission against any Reserved Category (ies) for which s/he has not applied. 
  • Once the candidate has submitted the online Admission Form, any change in the Form including category once marked shall not be allowed. 
  • The candidates who are applying under the Sports Category are required to see Appendix B of this document, for further procedures and guidelines. 
  • Candidates who wish to claim weightage on the basis of NCC, NSS, Youth Welfare, Adult Education and other activities should follow the guidelines as enshrined in the Handbook of Information-2023.
  • ADMISSION WILL BE MADE ON FINAL MERIT LIST.
