HOW TO APPLY?

Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.nic.in. It is essential for the applicant to register himself/herself first at One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the Commission’s website, and then proceeds for filling up the online application for the examination. OTR has to be registered only once in life time. This can be done anytime throughout the year. If the candidate is already registered, he/she can proceed straightway for filling up the online application for the examination. 

NATIONALITY

A candidate should hold The Citizenship of India, subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or Tibetan refugee who had been migrated to India before January 01, 1962, with the intention of Permanent Settle, or An individual of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire & Vietnam for permanent settle purpose in India.

AGE LIMITS, SEX AND MARITAL STATUS

(i) For IMA - Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 2000 and not later than 1st July, 2005 only are eligible. 

(ii) For Indian Naval Academy - Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 2000 and not later than 1st July, 2005 only are eligible. 

(iii) For Air Force Academy -

Age: 20 to 24 years as on 1st July, 2024 i.e. born not earlier than 2nd July, 2000 and not later than 1st July, 2004 (Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 yrs. i.e. born not earlier than 2nd July, 1998 and not later than 1st July, 2004 only are eligible.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

(i) For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai - Degree of a recognised University or equivalent. 

(ii) For Indian Naval Academy - Degree in Engineering from a recognised University/Institution 

(iii) For Air Force Academy - Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering. 

Graduates with first choice as Army/Navy/Air Force are to submit proof of Graduation/provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The recruitment of AFA, IMA, INA & Officers Training Academy posts will be conducted on the basis of:

1. Written Exam

2. SSB Interview/Personality Test

3. Document Verification

4. Medical Examination

EXAM PATTERN

The candidates have to clear CDS Written Examination to get selected for the interview round. Check the exam pattern for each position below.

• There will be Multiple-Choice Questions in each paper

• The question paper for General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics will be set in Hindi as well as English

• There will be a penalty of 1/3 marks for a wrong answer

• Duration of each exam is separate i.e. 2 hours.
