Explanation
The Fundamental Duties were included in the Constitution of India on the recommendation of the Swaran Singh Committee.

Promotion of Peace and Harmony: The committee recommended that the promotion of peace and harmony should be included as a fundamental duty. The committee felt that the promotion of peace and harmony was essential for the development and progress of the country.
The recommendations of the Swaran Singh Committee were accepted by the government, and the Constitution (Forty-second Amendment) Act, 1976, inserted Part IV-A in the Constitution.
