THERE WERE THREE BATTLES OF PANIPAT FOUGHT IN INDIA, EACH OF THEM SIGNIFICANT IN SHAPING THE COURSE OF INDIAN HISTORY. BELOW IS THE ORDER OF THE BATTLES OF PANIPAT ALONG WITH THEIR YEARS:
1. FIRST BATTLE OF PANIPAT (1526)- Fought between the Mughal Emperor Babur and the Sultan of Delhi, Ibrahim Lodi. Babur's victory in this battle marked the beginning of the Mughal Empire in India.
2. SECOND BATTLE OF PANIPAT (1556)- Fought between the forces of Akbar (the third Mughal emperor) and Hemu, a Hindu king and a powerful general. Akbar's victory in this battle helped solidify his grip on power and establish the Mughal Empire as the dominant force in India.
3. THIRD BATTLE OF PANIPAT (1761)- Fought between the Maratha Empire and the Durrani Empire (led by Ahmad Shah Durrani). The Marathas suffered a crushing defeat in this battle, which marked the beginning of their decline and the rise of British colonial power in India.
