Explanation
B: Pituitary
Gigantism and acromegaly are both disorders that result from an excess of growth hormone (GH) produced by the pituitary gland. Gigantism occurs when this excess GH is produced during childhood or adolescence, leading to excessive growth and an individual who is much taller than average. Acromegaly occurs when the excess GH is produced during adulthood, leading to enlargement of the hands, feet, and facial features, as well as other health problems. The thyroid and thymus glands are not directly involved in the regulation of growth hormone.
