Explanation
In January 2018, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched the Cartosat-2F remote sensing satellite along with 30 co-passenger satellites on the 42nd flight of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). The PSLV-C40 rocket was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, India.
The Cartosat-2F satellite is a part of the Cartosat-2 series of earth observation satellites that are designed to provide high-resolution imagery of the earth's surface for various applications such as urban planning, infrastructure development, and natural resource management. The co-passenger satellites on this mission included nanosatellites from several countries, including the United States, Canada, Finland, France, and the United Kingdom.
The PSLV rocket has been one of the most reliable launch vehicles for the ISRO, with a success rate of over 95%. The ISRO has used the PSLV rocket for a variety of missions, including launching remote sensing satellites, navigation satellites, and communication satellites.
