Explanation
Members of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in India are appointed by the B: President of India.
The UPSC is a constitutional body responsible for conducting recruitment exams and selecting candidates for various civil services and central government positions in India. The UPSC is governed by a chairman and members who are appointed by the President of India.
The process of appointment of UPSC members is outlined in Article 316 of the Indian Constitution. According to this article, the members of the UPSC are appointed by the President of India, who may consult with other members of the Union Council of Ministers before making the appointments.
The President of India appoints the UPSC chairman and members for a term of six years or until they reach the age of 65, whichever is earlier. Once appointed, the chairman and members of the UPSC may only be removed by the President, and only for reasons outlined in the Constitution.
