Explanation
Acid rain is primarily caused by an increase in the atmosphere concentration of (A) Sulfur dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen dioxide (NO2).
These pollutants are released into the atmosphere through human activities such as burning fossil fuels, industrial processes, and vehicle emissions. When SO2 and NO2 react with water, oxygen, and other chemicals in the atmosphere, they form sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and nitric acid (HNO3), which can then fall to the Earth's surface as acid rain.
