Explanation
As per Article 85 of the Constitution of India, the maximum gap between two sessions of Parliament should not exceed six months. This means that Parliament must meet at least twice a year and the gap between the two sessions should not be more than six months. However, it is up to the President of India to summon each House of Parliament to meet at such time and place as he thinks fit.
