Explanation
C: Statute
An Act of Parliament is called a statute. It is a formal written law that has been passed by a legislative body, such as the British Parliament or the US Congress. Statutes are binding laws that apply to everyone within the jurisdiction of the legislative body that passed them.
Before a bill becomes a statute, it has to go through several stages of debate and voting in the legislative body. Once the bill has been approved by both houses of the legislature and signed into law by the head of state or other designated authority, it becomes a statute.
Legislation is a broader term that encompasses all laws passed by a legislative body, including statutes, regulations, and ordinances. Public policy refers to the principles, goals, and actions that a government or organization takes to address societal problems and achieve its objectives.
