As per the Constitution of India, an Anglo-Indian is defined as option A: "A person whose father was of European descent and who was domiciled in India before the commencement of the Constitution."
This definition was included in the Constitution of India to provide representation to the Anglo-Indian community in the Lok Sabha (lower house of parliament) and in some state legislative assemblies. Under Article 331 of the Constitution, the President of India may nominate two members of the Anglo-Indian community to the Lok Sabha, if he/she is of the opinion that the community is not adequately represented.
The term "domiciled" refers to a person who has their permanent home or residence in India. Therefore, an Anglo-Indian as per the Constitution of India is a person whose father was of European descent and had his permanent home or residence in India before the commencement of the Constitution.
