Explanation
The United Nations (UN) was established on 24th October, 1945.
The UN was founded as a successor to the League of Nations, which was established after World War I to promote international cooperation and peace. The UN was created following World War II with the goal of preventing future conflicts and promoting global cooperation on issues such as human rights, economic development, and environmental protection.
The UN charter was signed by 50 countries on June 26, 1945, and it came into effect on October 24, 1945, after being ratified by the five permanent members of the Security Council (China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States) and a majority of the other signatories. The UN currently has 193 member states and is headquartered in New York City.
