India's first insect museum has been opened in Tamil Nadu.
The museum, named the 'Oviparous Quadrennial Germarium (OQG) Insect Museum', is located in the town of Kallar in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. It is the first insect museum in India and one of the few in the world dedicated to showcasing the diversity of insects.
The museum was established by Dr. D. Babu, an entomologist and former professor at Bharathiar University in Coimbatore. It houses a collection of over 2,500 species of insects, including rare and exotic specimens from around the world.
