WHAT IS PSTET?

PSTET stands for Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test conducted by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Punjab. Clearing PSTET makes candidates eligible for teaching positions in Primary and Upper Primary levels in schools across Punjab.

The exam is designed in two papers:
✔ Paper I: For Primary Teachers (Classes I-V)
✔ Paper II: For Upper Primary Teachers (Classes VI-VIII)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To appear in PSTET 2026, candidates must fulfill the following:

For Paper I (Primary Teachers):

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree with B.Ed (Basic Education)

For Paper II (Upper Primary Teachers):

  • Graduation with minimum 50% and B.Ed OR
  • Other equivalent teaching qualifications as per NCTE norms

No age limit is prescribed for PSTET candidates.

The PSTET exam is conducted in offline mode (pen & paper) and follows a multiple-choice format.

  • Environmental Studies
    Total: 150 MCQs | 150 Marks

Paper II Pattern (Upper Primary – Class VI-VIII):

    Total: 150 MCQs | 150 Marks
